OP Companion Privacy Policy Effective Date: May 1, 2026
OP Companion is a local-first MIDI controller app from Bytemint Media Ltd. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
1. Information We Collect
OP Companion does not collect personal data. The app does not track you, sell your information, share your information with advertisers, or transmit app usage data to Bytemint.
2. Local App Data
Projects, pad presets, MIDI mappings, routing preferences, device selections, and app settings are stored locally on your device. This information is used only to make the app work as expected and to preserve your setup between sessions.
OP Companion does not sync this data to Bytemint servers and does not automatically transmit it outside your device.
3. MIDI, Bluetooth, and Device Access
OP Companion may request access to local device capabilities such as MIDI, Bluetooth MIDI, local network MIDI sessions, or connected hardware interfaces. These permissions are used only to discover, connect to, and control MIDI destinations selected by you.
MIDI messages are sent to the destinations you choose inside the app. Bytemint does not receive copies of your MIDI messages, project data, device names, or routing choices.
4. AI-Assisted Pad Generation
At your request, OP Companion may use the on-device Apple Intelligence model to generate unique pad ideas intended to inspire your own projects and workflows. The app does not consult Apple Intelligence unless you prompt it to generate pad ideas. This AI-assisted generation runs on device through Apple-provided system capabilities.
Bytemint does not receive your AI prompts, generated pad content, project data, MIDI mappings, or app settings through this feature.
5. Support Communications
If you contact Bytemint for support, we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, message content, screenshots, or troubleshooting details. We use that information only to respond to your request and support OP Companion.
Please avoid sending personal information or confidential material unless it is necessary for support.
6. Third-Party Services
OP Companion does not include third-party advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking services. Platform-level services provided by Apple or your operating system may operate under their own privacy terms.
7. Data Retention
Because OP Companion stores app data locally, you control that data through your device and app management tools. Support emails are retained only as needed to respond to requests, maintain records, and operate Bytemint support.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when OP Companion changes or when legal, platform, or operational requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when the policy changes.
